Our Solar Powered Wooden Toy Car Kit ticks all the boxes for eco-conscious budding engineers, mechanics and inventors – kit to build with dad.
Why we like it:
Its red, it’s a race car and it needs to be engineered, basically it’s the perfect gift for every boy aged six and over. It’s also super educational. Our Solar Powered Wooden Toy Car is a wonderful little solar powered racing car, with gearbox and battery, to build and wire. Once correctly assembled (with some help from mom or dad), the Red Car drives along a flat surface when the sun shines on the solar panel. Not only do kids learn how to build a gearbox, how a motor works, how a solar module can power a gearbox and how to follow step-by-step instructions, but they also learn about renewable energy and have a fun demonstration of solar power. They learn about our earths strongest energy force, the sun. As far as eco-friendly toys, this toy ticks all the boxes – fun, engaging, educational – it has it all.
How it works:
This car is precision engineered in Germany, and uses top quality, engineered wood and steel components. Once put together, the energy for this car is provided by a one million mile wide big ball of nuclear fusion located 8 ½ light-speed minutes away. This light hits the solar cells of the solar panel where the light is converted directly into electricity – which in turn spins the motor gear box, the wheels turn and the car moves. The Solar Powered Wooden Toy Car Kit comes complete with full, illustrated instructions to operate it – even instructions on how to hot wire it with an AA battery! So if the sun decides to hide, it will still be able to work. This project, will probably require some help from mom or dad, and is an ideal bonding project.
