If you're not sure about switching to energy saving lightbulbs yet, we have compiled a number of reasons why you should switch now!
Energy saving light bulbs have always been a great idea - for both your pocket and the environment. They use up to 80% less energy than a standard bulb for doing the same job.
If you think that an energy saving light bulb is bulky, a strange shape, flickers or gives off a cold light then you need to think again.
Advances in technology mean that energy saving light bulbs now come in a wide range of shapes, sizes and fittings. These range from the traditional shaped bulbs to stick shaped bulbs, candle shaped bulbs with small, medium and bayonet screw fittings. There are also even halogen and dimmable energy saving light bulbs on the market. With soft tone bulbs you can enjoy a warm glow rather than a cold light.

the benefits
How much you will save really depends on how often your lights are in use each day, One energy efficient light bulb could save you £7 a year and 26 kilograms of CO2 a year, which would count towards reducing your personal carbon footprint*.
They last much longer too - in fact because they last up to 10 times longer than a standard bulb, one energy saving bulb will save you around £60 over its lifetime*.
With prices starting from as little as £1.60 per bulb you would recoup your money within 8 months. Imagine how much money you could save if you replaced all of the standard bulbs in your house with energy saving light bulbs?
The answer for an average three bedroom detached house is £600 over the lifetime of the bulbs.
