The energy egg is a great device for helping you to save energy in your home; just what we need in this era of rising energy bills and the need to cut our carbon footprint.
The energy egg was created by entrepreneur, Brian O’Reilly. Brian said “I was frustrated by my three young daughter’s not switching off appliances for the umpteenth time after they had finished using them and the impact this was having on our ever-increasing energy bills. This led me to do something about it and I created the energy egg.”
Why we like it:
The energy egg knows when you’ve left the room, and after a pre-set time it will turn off all your appliances. Ideal if you’ve got kids and teenagers who never turn anything off when they’re done using it!
It works just like a modern alarm system. A special sensor can be placed anywhere in your room to monitor when people are present. It’s clever enough to know if you’re just sat still watching TV (so no worries that it will accidentally switch you off while you’re enjoying your favourite show). When everyone leaves the room, it will send a signal to an adapter in your plug socket that turns everything off.
If you want to turn everything off when you leave the room you just press the button on top of the energy egg. Great if your plug sockets are hidden behind the TV or sideboard.
